This started out like so many other days just a wonderful boat ride with Jesus, how good does it get?
Jesus and the disciples were on the Sea of Galilee in the north part of Israel. When Nita and I went to Israel we were on a wooden ship and went out on the Sea of Galilee it was a peaceful day when we went on the ship, seagulls flew along the ship as people onboard threw up bread for them to swoop down and catch it. However through our Jewish guide and others we learned that the weather over the Sea of Galilee can quickly change to very strong winds.
But Jesus did something that astounded them, it was beyond their mental reasoning, Jesus in absolute calmness stood up and rebuked the winds and the waves and said peace, be still and asked them why were they so fearful and how is it they had no faith? Which leads me to my next point.
Even though the disciples had walked and talked with Jesus and eaten with Him they really did not have a clue who He was, this is evidenced in Mark 4:41. They didn’t know Jesus was a storm calmer, a sea walker, they didn’t know on that day that they had God in the flesh in the boat with them. The disciples at this time did not have a revelation of who Jesus was.
You may be in your little boat today which represents your life and what started out to be a great day has developed into a storm in your life. The winds are blowing and the waves are coming over the edge of your boat and you don’t know what to do.
However when you get a revelation of who is in your (boat) life although the storms of life come and they will, you will have the peace of God in you. If you are born again you have the Spirit of the living God in you. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says that when you are born again your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. So we have it better than the disciples did, they had Jesus with them but praise God we have the Spirit of the living God in us. Those disciples at that time, were not born again because Jesus had not yet gone to the cross and was raised from the dead to offer salvation to everyone that asks Him in their life.
As you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. How do you do that? Read the Word of God and pray every day. Talk to Him, tell Him how you feel, tell Him you love Him and make Him not only your Savior but your Lord. (Please go to our SALVATION tab if you have never been born again).
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 KJV What a powerful verse.
Well hallelujah, have a blessed week, all of you, we will have another sharing of God’s Word next Monday. I will look forward to what the Lord inspires me to minister to you. It’s a privilege to share with you.
