“Where there is no vision, the people perish:..” Proverbs 29:18
Without a vision from the Lord we cannot enter into the destiny and purpose that God wants us to accomplish in life.
We lose purpose and joy in our life unless we have direction from the Holy Spirit.
The Lord desires to show all of us what His will is for our life, why we were created. He wants us to enter into the destiny and purpose that He has called us to. Because of this the Holy Spirit’s method of communicating with us is sometimes in dreams and sometimes in visions.
You see happiness is not the same as joy. Happiness is temporal until something comes along and changes your mind like trials and tribulations that we all go through.
However joy is different, joy can only come from the Holy Spirit and is there with you when you go through the biggest mess. Joy is supernatural from the Lord. It is not driven by circumstances, it is there because we have allowed the presence of the Holy Spirit in us and we practice and celebrate that presence. TRY IT, IT WORKS.
We walk in this joy of the Lord and it gives us strength as we enter into what God has called us to do and to become. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Nehemiah 8:10
Please share this website with others that you know. Remember the Word of God will bless every person no matter who they are. God speaks to our hearts when we receive ministry from Him and He puts others people in our hearts and tells us to call or e mail that person because they need the Word of God also. You never know what that friend or family member of yours is going through. The trauma and fear that they are experiencing.
So please follow what the Spirit of the Living God is telling you and call up or e mail other people that you know so they too can receive the powerful Word of God in their lives.
That also includes the shut ins which includes people who are disabled or now are old and not able to come to a church building but still need ministering to just like you and me. So please give our website address to these people and see that they are blessed. Thank you.
The scriptures that are highlighted in this teaching will take you to BibleGateway.com and usually are in King James translation, however once you get to that site you can pick many different translations. Notice in both Joel 2 and Acts 2 it talks about an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last days that involves the Holy Spirit communicating with us through dreams and visions. It also talks about the Holy Spirit pouring out His spirit on children and handmaidens. So everyone is included.
In talking about the dreams and visions it states that your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams Acts 2:17
Of course young girls and women obviously receive dreams and visions also and God uses them just as He does through dreams and visions in men. There is no difference with God in His Spirit being poured out in these last days upon girls and ladies also. Galatians 3:28
I have received both dreams and visions and so has my wife Nita so I do not believe that the dreams and visions are only for a certain age group or sex but instead the Lord will pour out His Spirit on all flesh as He chooses.
Q. What is the difference between a dream and a vision?
A. Dreams are of course received as a person is asleep. However visions are given when a person is awake or at least partially awake I will explain the different types of visions and how they work later.
We have already looked at some visions last week in the Old Testament so today we will look at some visions in the New Testament.
New Testament visions:
Matthew 17:1-13 Peter, James and John go up into the mountain top with Jesus and Jesus is transfigured before them. The word transfigured means to change into another form. The disciples saw Jesus inner glory as it shined out of Him brilliantly. We also see that Moses and Elijah were also on that mountain top.
Matthew 17:5-6 Peter, James and John then heard the voice of the Father God and fell on their face as they were afraid. But Jesus told them not to be afraid.
The disciples would not have been able to see the transfiguration of Jesus with their natural eye as Jesus was in the Spirit realm and notice in Matthew 17:9 Jesus tells the disciples that they have seen a vision.
Another important vision in the New Testament is found in Luke 1:5-25. An angel appears to Zacharias who was a priest in the Jewish temple to tell him that his wife Elizabeth who was a cousin of Mary the mother of Jesus is going to have a child in their old age. His name was to be John the Baptist who was a cousin of Jesus.
So Elizabeth became pregnant and was approximately 6 months ahead of Mary the mother of Jesus when the angel Gabriel appears to her and says that she will be the mother of Jesus.
Both of these meetings with angels are visions by Zacharias and Mary as angels are spirits and we cannot see into the supernatural realm of God to be able to see angels without the Holy Spirit allowing us to receive a vision just for that occurrence.
Acts 9:1-22 Saul of Tarsus is on his way to Damascus to see if he could find any Christians so he could tie them up and take them to Jerusalem for trial. While Saul was on his way the Lord spoke to Saul and asked him why he was persecuting the Lord. Saul started trembling from the presence of the Lord and the Lord told him to go Damascus and ask for Ananias who was a disciple of Jesus.
However during this time Saul of Tarsus later called Paul became blind and needed help to reach that city. Jesus also told Saul that Ananias had seen Saul in a vision and was to lay hands upon Saul to receive his sight. Notice when Ananias prayed for Saul, Ananias said that Saul had seen the Lord as he was coming to meet him Acts 9:17.
I Corinthians 9:1 Paul states that he saw Jesus. In Acts 26:16 Jesus is quoted as having appeared to Saul of Tarsus (Paul) in a vision.
So even though Paul never met Jesus in the flesh as he appeared after Jesus was resurrected yet the Apostle Paul saw him in a vision going to Damascus with orders to arrest Christians for serving the Lord.
Acts 7:54-60 Stephen became the first martyr of the New Testament Church. As Stephen gave his defense to the people who accused him of false religion because he was a follower of Jesus Christ the people went into a rage and ran upon Stephen and stoned him.
As Stephen is dying he gets a vision of heaven and not only a vision of heaven but he sees Jesus standing up next to His throne in heaven as Stephen is stoned for his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Stephen could not have seen up into heaven, and then Jesus standing on the right hand of God as Stephen was being stoned unless he was enabled of the Lord to receive a vision.
This is the only time we see Jesus standing up next to His throne as He receives Stephen into heaven after he was stoned to death.
I will continue next Monday with visions in God’s Word.
For you pastors or leaders of groups that are interested in our ministry please contact us at:
We have an evangelistic/teaching ministry that we know will bring a revival of God and His Word to your church or group. We minister on many different areas including the Holy Spirit and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit including teaching on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, how to walk in the supernatural things of the Lord, dreams and visions, how to worship God in Spirit and in truth, the blessing of tithes and offerings and always the most important, how to actually lead people to the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Has this teaching website helped you?
Please consider supporting this ministry financially on a regular basis as we continue with this website and going out to churches and groups as evangelists and teachers. Your giving makes that possible as you sow into lives around the world. “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” see I Corinthians 3:9
At present we have 10 different ministries that have contacted us from around the world that are viewing this website with you every week and teaching our teaching to their congregations. In addition to that we are able to teach them individually as God leads us to help them grow in the Word of God. They are wonderful men and women of God comprised of 8 pastors and 2 evangelists.
These 10 ministries are touching the lives of thousands as they minister in their churches and go out into their cities and neighboring cities and hold revivals.
Nita and I are truly honored and humbled that the Lord supernaturally sent these pastors and evangelists from around the world for us to help them. They did not know us and we did not know them. The Holy Spirit literally had their hands get on the computer keys and led them to our ministry website.
We asked them how they found us and they said it was the Lord, it was the Holy Spirit of God. Hallelujah. All praise to the mighty God we serve.
So indeed this is fertile spiritual ground to sow your finances into.
You can send a check, cashier’s check or money order to the P. O. Box posted on this website.
