I am continuing on with my teaching on meekness, one of the 9 fruits of the Spirit which reveals the character and personality of our Savior, Jesus Christ and that we need so desperately in all of our lives.
We are able to allow these fruits of the Spirit to come out of us as Jesus Christ lives in all of us as born again Christians. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” See 1 Corinthians 3:16
Here is another fruit of the Spirit that many people misunderstand.
Our minds seem to be programmed to understand that when the Bible or anyone teaches on meekness it is just another word for weakness but that is not the correct understanding of this powerful fruit of the Spirit.
Once again I can just hear many brothers in the Lord thinking they are having a hard time with the Fruit of the Spirit meekness, it is like sissy stuff.
Let me ask you brothers in the Lord when is the last time that you led between 2 to 3 million people around in a wilderness and even though God was blessing them they wanted to kill you? Or let me ask you this, could you take the ultimate stress of being out in the desert with these 2 to 3 million people and listening to their complaining for 40 years? Now that it stress beyond belief.
Well there is a man that the Bible says this about him: “(Now the man Moses was VERY MEEK, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)” Numbers 12:3
Notice God would not even call a meek person to lead those 3 million Jews out of Egyptian bondage under the Pharaoh instead God elected to call a VERY MEEK MAN, ABOVE ALL THE MEN WHICH WERE UPON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.
So there goes your theory that meekness is weakness or some sissy stuff.
Quite the contrary, a very meek person has tremendous inner strength, a holy boldness that will not give ground to satan, will remain faithful to the Lord regardless of the circumstances and will not compromise his or her faith. That is just a few attributes of a very meek person. Hallelujah!
That makes men that call themselves macho in this world look like little sissy’s, compared to diligent men and women of God. Amen?
Please share this website with others that you know.
Remember the Word of God will bless every person no matter who they are. God speaks to our hearts when we receive ministry from Him and He puts others people in our hearts and tells us to call or e mail that person because they need the Word of God also.
You never know what that friend or family member of yours is going through. The trauma and fear that they are experiencing. Reading and meditating on God’s Word delivers people that are in trauma, fear or confusion. There is tremendous Power in the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12
So please follow what the Spirit of the Living God is telling you and call up or e mail other people that you know so they too can receive the powerful Word of God in their lives.
That also includes the shut ins which includes people who are disabled or now are old and not able to come to a church building but still need ministering to just like you and me. So please give our website address to these people and see that they are blessed. Thank you.
The scriptures that are highlighted in this teaching will take you to BibleGateway.com and usually are in King James translation, however once you get to that site you can pick many different translations. To return to this teaching just go to your upper left hand corner of your computer screen and click back on the teaching tab.
So I don’t know about you brothers but we need to all become MEEK POWERFUL MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD LIKE MOSES AND INHERIT THE EARTH LIKE JESUS PROMISED TO THOSE POWERFUL MEEK PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE WITH JESUS FOR ETERNITY, AMEN?
Frankly speaking it takes guts for a man or woman of God to be meek. Meekness is showing spiritual power and control at the same time and that is what God is looking for in His men and women who will inherit eternal life with Him.
Meekness is an absolute necessity to inherit eternal life according to Jesus and His Word.
A large muscular brother in the Lord looked me in the eyes about 2 weeks ago and said, “Conrad we need to become humble before God,” I told him you are absolutely right.
So meekness requires a person to have restraint which is not an easy thing to do many times in our life. In our natural realm sometimes we want to let it all out and end up saying and doing things that we later regret. Have you ever been there? I have.
Oftentimes there is the passion of overwhelming frustration of the moment and we tend to let go and allow our emotions to dictate what we do and say, which of course can turn into a disaster. It can greatly damage relationships we have with others and turn away people that we are trying to lead to the Lord.
“And the servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient. In MEEKNESS instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:24-25
That is a somewhat difficult verse to fully get a grasp of so let me give you the New Living Translation version:
“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:24-25 (NLT) NEW LIVING TRANSLATION
Did that bring a lot more clarity to those 2 verses, I hope it did? Excellent translation of those verses.
Let’s look more closely at these 2 verses in the New Living Translation. By the way I have used the New Living Translation for quite some time and find it a very good translation of God’s Word overall. It makes difficult passages a lot easier to understand.
As you know I use the King James Version of the Bible because I grew up with it, learned scriptures in the King James Bible and just feel comfortable with it. However there are times that I look into my New Living Translation and it sometimes really opens the meaning of a verse.
You might want to consider doing the same. Keeping the translation of the Bible that works for you but also have the New Living Translation for clarity in some scriptures.
So back to the New Living Translation for 2 Timothy 2:24-25. Notice that we are not called to quarrel with people, that always adds more fuel to the fire right? We are called to be kind to everyone.
What does the Bible say about being a witness for the Lord? “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, If ye have love one to another.” John 13:35 So quarreling with people never brings to fruition what we are looking for.
We are called to be able to teach others about the Word of God. We are called to be patient with difficult people. Have you encountered difficult people in presenting the Word of God to them? Many people do not have the upbringing or background that you have so they are on a totally different wave length than you. But look at this in 2 Timothy 2:24-25 says that you are to gently instruct those who oppose the truth.
We could say that we are called to teach people gently even those who oppose the truth of God’s Word. Then Paul in talking to his young protégé Timothy says by this approach maybe God will change the people’s hearts that you are talking to and they will learn the truth, amen?
Of course this same fruit of meekness (GENTLENESS) works just as well in your home with your husband or wife, your children, your grandchildren and all of your relatives. Absolutely!
This fruit of meekness is not just when you are teaching someone about the Word of God it is to be used every day in all of our inter personal relationships, even on your job.
Once again you may not think that meekness is something you really want to talk about or consider. You may even feel like it is not needed in your life. But the next time things are getting heated in a conversation that you are having with someone to be able to have restraint takes a real man or woman of God to be able to exhibit meekness.
Remember meekness is demonstrating spiritual power and control at the same time.
The fruit of meekness helps you to be able to contain the emotions of the moment so that you do not say and do things that you will later deeply regret.
Without the fruit of meekness it may cost you a marriage or your job? It may at the least damage relationships that are very dear to you and they may take years to come back around or never recover.
So please do not take this fruit of the Spirit lightly, it could save your day over and over again. You will learn to appreciate this godly characteristic in yourself and be able to look back and say that meekness in your life has saved you from a mess and destruction time and again.
Do you remember when I first started teaching on the fruit of the Spirit, I said all 9 of them help to build godly character in your life? They immensely help to bring spiritual maturity to your life so that you can be a powerful man and woman of God, fit for the Masters use.
You see as I have said so many times as I teach the Word of God, the Lord did not just put a bunch of words in the Bible to make 66 books out of it.
Everything that is in the Word of God is invaluable to me and you, it is vitally important to hear and do in our life. God knows what we need in our life to bring joy and success in our life and that is why it is there.
It is not just to fill up a page!
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with MEEKNESS and fear. I Peter 3:15
We as Christians are not called to share the Word of God by spiritually mugging others, we do not have to make the Word of God work for others, the Word of God will stand on its own. We are just called to share the Word of God in a gentle and respectful way. That approach to present the Gospel to others will reap great dividends compared to being insensitive and disrespectful to others.
“Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you.” 2 Corinthians 10:1
Jesus Christ is our example of meekness and gentleness, that is a characteristic of Jesus Christ, how can we do better than to be like our Savior.
Here in 2 Corinthians 10:1 we see that Paul is emulating his Savior Jesus Christ in being meek and gentle, the very fruit of the Spirit that we are looking at today.
In reading the New Testament you will never see the Apostle Paul being like a bull in a china shop and yet he was one of the most powerful Disciples of Christ that ever walked this earth.
The Apostle Paul knew how to get his message over effectively in meekness (gentleness) and not be brutal in the delivery.
Because of this, his ministry stirred his whole world as he went around Israel ministering the Word of God and on his missionary journeys.
I believe you can see how powerful and invaluable the fruit of meekness (gentleness) is.
Meekness comes from a strength in an individual and is not easy to find in the Christian community. However the ones that walk in meekness stand out as people that are mature in the things of the Lord and they have a powerful witness of Jesus Christ in their life thereby drawing others to Christ.

Has this teaching website helped you?
Please consider supporting this ministry financially on a regular basis as we continue with this website and going out to churches and groups as evangelists and teachers. Your giving makes that possible as you sow into lives around the world. “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” I Corinthians 3:9
At present we have 10 different ministries that have contacted us from around the world that are viewing this website with you every week and using our teaching to teach their congregations. In addition to that we are able to teach them individually as God leads us to help them grow in the Word of God. They are wonderful men and women of God comprised of 8 pastors and 2 evangelists.
These 10 ministries are touching the lives of thousands as they minister in their churches and go out into their cities and neighboring cities and hold revivals.
Nita and I are truly honored and humbled that the Lord supernaturally sent these pastors and evangelists from around the world for us to help them and for them to bless us. They did not know us and we did not know them.
The Holy Spirit literally had their hands get on the computer keys and led them to our ministry website.
We asked them how they found us and they said it was the Lord, it was the Holy Spirit of God. Hallelujah. All praise to the mighty God we serve.
So indeed this is fertile spiritual ground to sow your finances into.
