The original Greek translation of longsuffering is: (Patience, endurance, constancy, steadfastness, perseverance and slowness in avenging wrongs).
“Cast now away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For you have need of (PATIENCE), that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Hebrews 10:35-36
God is not in the microwave business nor is He into instant gratification. Someone has said that we want God to do things in our life microwave fast however God is more into a crock pot type of work in our lives which is slower but builds a solid foundation in our life.
God wants to build a good foundation in our lives and it requires time. Remember the Word of God says He is the Rock and He builds our lives on Him if we allow Him to instead of the foundation of sand that we would build on in trying to make things always happen now. (Matthew 7:24-29)
Please share this website with others that you know.
Remember the Word of God will bless every person no matter who they are. God speaks to our hearts when we receive ministry from Him and He puts others people in our hearts and tells us to call or e mail that person because they need the Word of God also.
You never know what that friend or family member of yours is going through. The trauma and fear that they are experiencing.
So please follow what the Spirit of the Living God is telling you and call up or e mail other people that you know so they too can receive the powerful Word of God in their lives.
That also includes the shut ins which includes people who are disabled or now are old and not able to come to a church building but still need ministering to just like you and me. So please give our website address to these people and see that they are blessed. Thank you.
The scriptures that are highlighted in this teaching will take you to BibleGateway.com and usually are in King James translation, however once you get to that site you can pick many different translations. We want things, but we want them now.
Someone has said grant me patience and I want it NOW.
We want to microwave everything, we go to fast food restaurants like McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, as we don’t have time to eat.
There is Fed Ex, DHL and USPS. (Now some retail stores say they can get you a delivery the same day you order something around Christmas time).
Amazon has said if you forgot something at the store they will deliver to you within an hour. Incredible.
A retail store has said that you can order on line and pick it up in a basket at your store, curbside. (Wow all you need is someone to put it away when you get home). Ha ha
God wants to develop patience in us.
Let’s look at Hebrews 10:35-36 more closely:_
“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For you have need of (PATIENCE), that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Hebrews 10:35-36
God’s Word is full of spiritual principles that if we use them they will bring wonderful, blessed results to our lives and these 2 verses are filled with spiritual principles of how to receive from God.
The scriptures start out: “Cast not away therefore your confidence,” When you have confidence in someone you have trust in them, right? Let’s go a step further. When you have confidence in someone you have faith in them.
God has said, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
So faith wich takes longsuffering (patience) is a necessary ingredient to receiving from God.
Then the verse says: “…which hath great recompense of reward…” When you have faith and trust in God it always brings a wonderful reward in your life, namely what you have been believing for as long as it is in agreement with God’s Word, right?
We all want rewards or we could call them blessings or answered prayers from our Lord.
Recompense can also be interpreted as a great PROMISE of reward.
Then let’s look at the next part of Hebrews 10:35-36: “For ye have need of patience” (or longsuffering)
We tend to think that patience is just a lack of doing anything but that is not true.
Patience is a powerful spiritual force.
Remember God never blesses laziness.
Patience sustains faith, it keeps the foot on the accelerator even though it looks like nothing is happening in the natural realm.
When your prayer or command is against satan patience keeps him in the arena of faith. It puts pressure on him. When we lose our patience then we are backing off on our faith and have our eyes on the natural realm instead of the spiritual realm.
Spiritual battles are won or lost in the spiritual realm, not the physical realm. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4
So longsuffering (patience) works in spiritual warfare against satan just like it works in believing God for our requests of Him to be received in other areas of our lives.
Let go back to Hebrews 10:35-36: “…that after you have done the will of God…”
What is the will of God, well in its shortest definition it is the Word of God.
The will of God is living for Him. As we live for Him we all make mistakes and sin. It is important to be moved by that sin in such a manner that we feel sorrowful about it and want to repent right away and ask for help so we don’t keep sinning in that area.
In living for the Lord the blessings or promises of God can’t be earned through works however they are received through being willing and obedient to do the will of God in your life.
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” Isaiah 1:19
Being WILLING AND OBEDIENT are the 2 necessary qualities that all of us need in order to receive from the Lord in any area of our lives.
The blessings of God do not fall on you like ripe cherries off a tree. They cannot be received by our “good works” they are received by being willing and obedient to God and His Word.
Let me go another step further, we cannot just live like we want to and then complain to our Lord that we don’t know why things are not going good for us.
It just does not work that way, never has, never will.
You can be obedient to God and His Word and at the same time not be willing.
A brother in the Lord once shared this account. He was in the ministry and was doing all he knew to do in order to live for the Lord but he said for some reason he was not prospering in his life. He went to the Lord in prayer and told the Lord that as far as he knew he was doing all he was supposed to do to live for the Lord but he was not prospering and he asked the Lord why he wasn’t.
The Lord spoke to him and told him that he had been obedient to do what the Lord had told him to do but he showed the Lord he was not willing. This minister of the gospel’s heart was going through the motions but his heart was not willing to do the work the Lord had called him to do.
The minister said after that conversation with the Lord he examined his heart and made an adjustment on the inside of himself and then told the Lord that now he was willing and obedient to do the will of God.
Because of this change in the minister’s heart he started receiving the blessings of God in his life.
Repentance for a Christian is found in 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Now let’s look at the last part of that spiritual principal from God on receiving from God: “…Ye might receive the promise…”
So you see the progression of how to receive from God and what is right in the middle of those verses, the word PATIENCE WHICH IS LONGSUFFERING?
That patience or longsuffering is also a requirement from the Lord in our relationship with others.
“And the servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient.” Please see_ this verse 2 Timothy 2:24
Do you have patience with others?
Patience or longsuffering is like all of the 9 fruits of the Spirit, fruit does not just appear.
You do not buy an orange tree and expect to see fruit the next morning when you go outside to check it. But in time that orange tree will produce fruit if it is being taken care of.
It’s the same way in our life. If we do the things that we know to do as Christians like reading the Word of God each day and praying, going to church frequently and other things that we know make for a healthy Christian life that fruit of the Spirit will start coming out of your life.
That fruit then becomes a blessing to you and others. It is a growing process that will happen in your life if you will ALLOW it to.
As you grow in the things of God (patience, longsuffering) becomes a part of your Christian character. It develops as you have faith in God and we know that faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17) and doing the will of God in your life. THEN YOU RECEIVE THE PROMISES OF GOD.
If you came to this ministry website today and have never asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior please see our salvation tab. It will give you valuable information about the new birth and a prayer to ask Jesus Christ to come into your life. Romans 10:9-10
God loves you beyond your wildest dreams no matter what you have done and where you have been. Your life is valuable and precious to God.
Please read this: “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Please send us an e mail to our e mail address and let us rejoice with you that you gave your life to the Lord and you are now born again.
“God so loved the world, that He gave His old begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Jesus has asked us as Christians to carry His love into our life when He said, “Bless them that curse you, and pray for them that dispitefully use you.” Luke 6:28
Only God’s love in you can ever do what the Lord has asked us to do in the verse above.
Remember God’s love never fails, when you show God’s love to your son or daughter, your grandchildren, your in-laws, your neighbors and people around the world.

We have an evangelistic/teaching ministry that we know will bring a revival of God and His Word to your church or group. We minister on many different areas including the Holy Spirit and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit including teaching on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, how to walk in the supernatural things of the Lord, dreams and visions, how to worship God in Spirit and in truth, the blessing of tithes and offerings and always the most important, how to actually lead people to the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Has this teaching website helped you?
Please consider supporting this ministry financially on a regular basis as we continue with this website and going out to churches and groups as evangelists and teachers. Your giving makes that possible as you sow into lives around the world. “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” Please see I Corinthians 3:9
At present we have 10 different ministries that have contacted us from around the world that are viewing this website with you every week and teaching our teaching to their congregations. In addition to that we are able to teach them individually as God leads us to help them grow in the Word of God. They are wonderful men and women of God comprised of 8 pastors and 2 evangelists.
These 10 ministries are touching the lives of thousands as they minister in their churches and go out into their cities and neighboring cities and hold revivals.
Nita and I are truly honored and humbled that the Lord supernaturally sent these pastors and evangelists from around the world for us to help them. They did not know us and we did not know them. The Holy Spirit literally had their hands get on the computer keys and led them to our ministry website.
We asked them how they found us and they said it was the Lord, it was the Holy Spirit of God. Hallelujah. All praise to the mighty God we serve.
So indeed this is fertile spiritual ground to sow your finances into.
