This closing chapter of the Book of Revelation continues our thrilling “sightseeing tour” of the New Jerusalem and reaffirms the fact that only those who possess the righteousness of Christ are granted admittance and residence.
The final two chapters of the Book of Revelation present the glorious future which awaits every believer of all dispensations and ages.
The eternal state of both the saved and the lost is described in the first eight verses of this chapter. In addition verses 9 through 27 present a glowing description of the New Jerusalem. The view is absolutely breathtaking. So let’s begin our study.

In Chapter 19 we hear this first praise which is a response to the angel’s command to rejoice (Revelation 18:20) for the Lord’s judgment of the great prostitute. In destroying Babylon, Christ has avenged the blood of His servants.
Revelation 19 deals with the end of the tribulation and Christ’s glorious second coming to earth to destroy the beast, the false prophet and the ungodly, and to reign with His saints.
“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Daniel 12:4
Daniel was told by the Lord to seal up the book, God was telling him that not everything was going to be revealed to him nor mankind at that time. For one thing the Lord did not reveal to him that after the 69th week of the total of 70 weeks that there was going to be 2,000 years of Church Age that we live in now.
The Babylon of Revelation 14 is a false religious system and the Babylon of Revelation 16 is a totally corrupt political system set up in the very last days of the antichrist.
So Revelation 17 is the story of the rise and fall of the ecumenical world church, while chapter 18 describes the destruction of the corrupt political system also headed by the antichrist.
The information presented in the following twenty-one verses should cause all men to examine their relationship with the Almighty God. The events we are about to observe are both awesome and terrifying. In fact, the consolation for the believer is that he will not be present when the forthcoming scenario actually takes place.
By the time our study is concluded, we will understand and appreciate more than ever before the words of the Apostle Paul in Titus 2:13 “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
The final seven judgments of the Tribulation hour are about to begin.
Revelation chapter 15 serves as a preparatory portion of scripture. Its eight verses serve as an introduction to the seven vial or bowl judgments described in chapter 16.
Plagues is translated elsewhere by the word wound. The Lord is about to wound the earth for the last time before the final judgment. God’s wrath is completed with these events.

The Word of God states: 9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
The Lord does not want anyone to perish and miss heaven and end up in the lake of fire. However the hearts of many people left during the Tribulation have hardened their own hearts toward the Lord but the Lord still has mercy upon them.
Unfortunately most people do not come to the Lord in good times even in the times we live in. Sometimes only the direst circumstances will bring a person to the Lord and that is what we see in the Tribulation and the judgments that are being poured out by the Lord. We see God’s mercy being extended upon all those that are in the Tribulation in hopes they will come to Jesus Christ as their Savior.
It is up to them.
We are looking at chapter 13 of the Book of Revelation today. This chapter introduces two beasts. The first one, commonly known as the Antichrist, is unveiled in verses 1-10, while the second beast, known as the false prophet, is revealed in verses 11 through 18.
The first beast is political; the second beast is religious. Both are energized by the power of satan, and thus make an unholy trinity-the devil, the Antichrist, and the false prophet.
Remember satan is the great imitator. The incarnation of himself in these two villains is his final attempt to wreak havoc upon earth. Knowing that he has but a short time left, he makes an all-out move to usurp God’s position and authority through his two allies-the beasts of this chapter.
